What kind of lapel pins do you offer?
We’re glad you asked! We offer a range of pin styles, including cloisonné, soft enamel, color printed, photo etched and die struck.
Which kind is right for me?
That depends on your design and your budget. Our talented, experienced staff will be glad to help you find the perfect pins. We can guide you to the ideal size, shape, colors and styles for your needs.
What do the terms cloisonné, soft enamel, etc., mean?
Cloisonné, also known as hard enamel, is a beautiful finish created by filling the valleys of a die struck design with a special glass-like resin. It’s cured at 1,700 degrees F. for a durable, elegant look. These are the highest quality pins we offer, with a finish comparable to fine jewelry. These make outstanding corporate pins.
Soft Enamel pins are similar to cloisonné, but use a different enamel material, and are cured at a lower temperature. They are nearly the same quality as cloisonné, but are more affordable. This is our most popular pin style, quite popular for sports trading pins.
Die Struck is the classic “military-style” pin. These pins are struck from a die, creating ridges and valleys that product sharp contrast and a crisp, detailed appearance. With polished ridges and matte, textured or antique finish for the valleys, these pins offer a timeless elegance.
Photo Etched pins are perfect for fine details. We etch the design into the pin base, then inject soft enamel. This gives you a wider range of colors and lighter weight pins. A clear epoxy protective coating is optional.
Color printed pins print your design directly onto the metal pin base. This is ideal if you have an intricate design with lots of fine lines or gradients. You can even print a photo image or other artwork on your pins. We apply a clear epoxy protective coating to protect the image from scratches and nicks.
Do you charge for artwork?
Not at all! We never charge for art or revisions. We even email you a free digital proof so you can make sure your design is exactly what you want before you finalize your pin order.
What art formats do you accept?
We strongly prefer vector art. We accept Illustrator (.ai), Acrobat (.pdf), general (.eps) and (.svg) files. We can accept raster files of at least 300dpi. We do NOT accept Corel Draw (.cdr) files. How long will it take to get my pins?
Usually about two weeks. However, please be aware that due to the tremendous volume of baseball trading pins being ordered between May 1 and July 31 each year, we do NOT offer or imply any delivery time guarantee in that time period.
But I’m ordering business lapel pins, not trading pins. Why does that matter?
The problem is, your business pins are made in the same factories as baseball trading pins. Every year during the youth league baseball season, the factories – all over the world – get so backlogged with orders, it takes longer to process them. That’s why we can’t promise you quicker delivery of your lapel pins.
Where are your custom pins made?
We make most of our pins overseas, which enables us to give you faster turnaround times and lower prices. If your organization requires U.S.A.-made pins, we can do that. Just let us know when you request a free quote.
What backing style comes with the pins?
Our standard backing is a metal butterfly clutch. Other options are available, Our customer service representatives can help you choose the perfect one for your needs.
